Noah’s Ark as a Type of Deliverance

In the Ark we see the Deliverance YAHWEH has provided for us in MESSIAH.

Gen.6:5; Gen.6:7. And YAHWEH saw that the wickedness of man -- great in the land … YAHWEH said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the land;

2Pe.3:6. the world which then existed was destroyed by a deluge of water.

2Pe.3:7; 2Pe.3:11. But the heavens and the land that now are (by the same LOGOS) -- are treasured up -- guarded to fire to the day of judgment and ruin of irreverent humanity.…. Since all these things thus being dissolved in this manner what sort of people must we be…

Gen.6:1-22. The Ark was ELOHIM’s plan, it had to be made according to His measure.

Rom.3:24-25. “The redemption” that is in MESSIAH Jesus is also ELOHIM’s plan; for the next verse says, “whom ELOHIM has set forth a mercy-seat, through faith in His blood,”

The Ark was a place of safety.

Heb.6:18. who have fled for refuge to lay hold on the expectation set before us,

The Ark bore the storm of judgment.

Psa.69:2. I have come into deep waters, and the flood sweeps over me.

Psa.42:7. All Your breakers and Your billows, they pass over me.

The Ark had to be entered by the Door.

Joh.10:9. Jesus said, “I am the Door. Through Me if anyone should be entering, he shall be delivered.”

Melchisedec as a Type of MESSIAH

Melchizedek--Sovereign of Righteousness

A Sovereign shall reign in righteousness, Isa.32:1.

Sovereign of Salem--Sovereign of Peace

His name shall be called … Potentate of Peace, Isa.9:6-7.

Sovereign and Priest

He shall sit and rule on His throne, and shall be a Priest, Zec.6:13 (Both offices united only in MESSIAH).

Made like the Son of ELOHIM, Heb.7:3.

A Great High Priest that is passed into the heavens, Jesus, the Son of ELOHIM, Heb.4:14.

Having neither beginning of days nor end of life, Heb.7:3.

He ever lives to make intercession, Heb.7:26.

Abides a priest, Heb.7:3.

But this man, because He continues, has an unchangeable priesthood, Heb.7:24.

Met Abraham after his victory, refreshed him with bread and wine, and blessed him, Gen.14:18.

So MESSIAH draws near to us, and gives us communion with Himself after times of conflict in which He has given us the victory.

In the offering of Isaac we have one of the most perfect pictures of the great sacrifice offered at Golgotha that we find in all Scripture.
